Comparison
MomentClip vs Opus Clip
Both turn long videos into short clips. MomentClip is the option for people who want mode-specific AI, transparent scoring, and credits that never expire — instead of a monthly subscription.
10 free credits every month. No card required.
AI that knows what it's looking at
Five tuned modes — Interview, Panel, Travel, Meeting, Webinar — each with its own analysis prompt. A panel's best clip is a cross-speaker debate; a travel vlog's best clip is a wow reaction. We don't pretend those are the same problem.
Transparent clip scoring
Every clip ships with a 0–100 score and a per-factor breakdown — hook strength, insight density, quotability — plus a one-line reason. You see why the AI picked it, not just that it did.
Credits, not a subscription
Pay once, credits never expire. 1 credit = 1 minute at 1080p. If you process video sporadically, you'll pay a fraction of an Opus Clip subscription.

When Opus Clip is the better pick
We'd rather be honest than oversell. Pick Opus Clip if:
- ·You need AI face tracking on 9:16 today. Opus Clip's ReFrame is the more mature implementation. MomentClip ships a smart center-crop and is shipping tracking later.
- ·You want a built-in social scheduler. Opus Clip publishes directly to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts. MomentClip hands you the clip file — you publish.
- ·You produce one type of content at huge volume and a generic ranker tuned over millions of inputs is fine. Mode-specific AI helps most when content varies.
What you only get with MomentClip
A mode for panel debates
Opus Clip ranks moments in isolation. MomentClip's Panel mode tracks every speaker, finds the cross-speaker exchange that defines the conversation, and keeps both sides of the back-and-forth in the clip. Great for podcasts, debates, and roundtables.
Stream-copy clips, source quality
When the export aspect matches the source, MomentClip cuts without re-encoding — your 4K HEVC source ships as 4K HEVC clips, not a re-encoded blob with a generation loss. Re-encode only kicks in when you actually need it (e.g. crop to 9:16).
A reason for every clip
Every clip ships with a one-line plain-English reason and a per-factor score breakdown. You can see exactly why the AI ranked something a 92 — hook strength, quotability, insight density — and use that to prune.
EU-hosted, source deleted after processing
Source video is stored only long enough to process the job, then deleted. Hosted on Supabase EU. Useful when the legal team has opinions about US-default SaaS.
Try it on your actual footage
Upload one video. See the clips MomentClip picks, the scores it assigns, and the reasoning. Decide for yourself which tool ranks your content better.
