How do I convert SRT to VTT?+
Paste your .srt file (or upload it), then choose VTT as the output format. The converter adds the WEBVTT header and switches the millisecond separator from a comma to a period, which is all that differs between the two formats. Copy or download the result.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?+
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your subtitles never leave your device and nothing is stored on a server.
Can I turn subtitles into a plain transcript?+
Yes. Choose the Text output to strip the timestamps and cue numbers and get a clean, readable transcript you can paste into show notes, a blog post, or an email.
What's the difference between SRT and VTT?+
They're nearly identical. SRT uses a comma before milliseconds (00:00:01,000) and numbers each cue; VTT uses a period (00:00:01.000), starts with a WEBVTT header, and is the format HTML5 video and most web players expect.
