How do I download a YouTube thumbnail in HD?+
Paste the video's URL (or its 11-character ID) into the box and press Get. You'll see every available resolution, up to 1280×720 (maxres). Click Download on the size you want.
Why is the max-resolution image missing for some videos?+
YouTube only generates the 1280×720 'maxresdefault' thumbnail for videos uploaded at HD or above. Older or low-resolution uploads may only have the smaller sizes, so those are all we can show.
Is this free and is there a watermark?+
It's completely free, no signup, and there's no watermark — you get YouTube's original thumbnail image exactly as uploaded.
Can I use a downloaded thumbnail?+
The thumbnail is the copyright of whoever uploaded the video. Use it for reference, research or fair-use commentary — don't republish someone else's thumbnail as your own.
